RECEIVING AN OFFER and conditions

After your audition, we will make an assessment about your skills in the vocational area that applies, ie acting, dance or singing - or all three for musical theatre. We will make a conditional offer to successful candidates based upon our assessment of your skills and potential in the vocational areas mentioned above.

We will aim to contact you within one week with the outcome of your audition. This will be by email.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY (Please read carefully)

If you are successful at your audition you will be given a CONDITIONAL offer. The conditions (see below) will be checked during your enrolment in September. If you do not satisfy all the conditions then, sadly, you will not be able to enrol and study with us. If you would like to raise anything to us regarding the conditions please contact our admissions team as soon as possible.

1) Proof or residency which could include;

  • UK Passport, UK Driver’s Licence or provisional licence if you were born in the UK or an original UK Birth Certificate (not a photocopy) and Photo ID (such as Oyster Card or School ID badge)

  • Visa documentation, including family members passport/visa if your visa states you are joining someone else. We must also see your visa stating the name of the person you are joining.

  • Immigration documentation

  • Home Office letter stating that your application is being processed if your current visa is expiring. If your visa expires before the end of your course you may not be able to fully enrol or complete your course

Please note we cannot sponsor student visas.

2) Proof you will be aged 16-18 on the start date of the course.

3) Confirmation you will be living with a legal guardian within a daily commutable distance of the college (This is declared on your application form).

4) English & Maths

  • As a Level 3 course (with 3 A-Level equivalency), we would prefer that all new students have a grade 4 or above in Maths and English GCSE to ensure that the academic demands of the course can be met.

However, if you do not achieve these grades, our commitment to supporting talent means this may not be a barrier for entry to the course and at that stage your application will be reviewed by the senior team to ascertain suitability for the course.

  • Information for those who require to restudy Maths and English GCSE:

To qualify for state funding for your performing arts tuition, you will need to continue your academic studies in Maths and/or English and this will be organised with our partner college LSEC at their nearby ‘Bexley Campus’ (Walnut Tree Road, Erith, DA8 1RA). Please note, that you must study onsite with the LSEC team and you cannot study online or replace with your own personal tutor etc. These lessons are mandatory and take place outside your performing arts timetable. Failure to attend these lessons will result in removal from the performing arts course.

  • Information for applicants who have taken/are taking GCSE level exams in a different country (but who have proof of residency in the UK):

The equivalency of these exam results will be checked by the enrolment team at LSEC. Please send over these results as soon as possible to the LCPA admissions team for them to be checked in advance. All decisions by the LSEC team are final.

ACCEPTING YOUR OFFER

Once you have received an offer, you will have a period of time to accept your place. You will also be asked to pay a deposit of £80 at the same stage of the process.

This deposit, securing your place on the course, prevents someone saying yes to a place that they don’t fully intend to take up, which risks applicants on our reserve list missing out. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is necessary for us to ensure people aren’t accepting places unless they definitely plan to join us in September. If you subsequently decide not to take up your place or remain on the course, the deposit will NOT be refunded.

The deposit can be paid by BACS transfer and you will be informed of the deadline for this and transfer details in your offer email. Once you have accepted, you will of course receive further information and begin the pre-enrolment process during the time leading up to your start date.

Once you have successfully enrolled and completed the first half term of your studies, your deposit will then be refunded to you OR you can choose to use the funds to purchase college hoodies and t-shirts etc.

Please note: If you do not accept a place within the deadline, we may not be able to guarantee you a place on the course.

DECLINING YOUR OFFER

Should you wish to decline the place offered, you can simply return the online form by the acceptance deadline with the appropriate box ticked to say that this is what you would like to do with no further action required.

Should you decline your offer, it may or may not be possible for you to change your mind at a later date depending on our acceptance numbers and reserve list. Please contact us in this event to discuss your options.

If you have any questions about your application, audition or acceptance just get in touch with us and we will be happy to advise.

Please note: if you do not turn up to your audition when booked, we MAy be unable to offer you an alternative date unless you have contacted us in advance to rebook.
